            The Historian of the Grand Commandery is charged with compiling a history of the Grand Commandery to published coincident with the 125^th Anniversary of the Grand Commandery.  The Historian and the Assistant Historian hope to make this history available to the Sir Knights during the 2012 Annual Session of the Grand Commandery.         

   They can not accomplish this by themselves and need some inputs from the individual Commanderies.

            Sir Knight PEGC Robert Johnston wrote a very good history of the first one hundred years of the Grand Commandery, which occurred in 1987, and we are using that as a basis for the 125 year history. What we need from each Commandery is an update to the 100 year history.  Eminent Commanders would you appoint someone to write a short history of your Commandery reflecting the highlights of the activities of the last 25 years (1987 – 2012).  Items of special interest would be:

                                    Change of meeting location

                                    Merger with another Commandery

                                    Special Awards received

                                    Special meetings such as Easter or Christmas Observances

       Personal achievements/recognition of a member of the Commandery

                                    Special visitations to another Commandery

                                    Special Community Service projects

            Please forward your short histories to J. Rex Hartsfield before October 31, 2011.  Reports can be forwarded by Email or U.S. Mail.  If you can get your information to me before that date that will give me six months to write the history and get it printed.
